Special times ask for wonderful music and luckily creative minds have composed wonderful music for centuries. Haydn for example, had a well-paid job with an influential Hungarian family and lived isolated from the world. It was precisely because of this that he felt obligated to show his originality. One of the results: the beautiful La Passione: a masterpieces filled with strong emotions. Fiumara is a composer who wants to be understood right away. His See the Sky About to Rain (world première*) is a song of hope and consolation in these strange corona times. Stravinsky is well known for his exuberant ballet music, but in 1918 he paid tribute to Debussy with a modest and moving piece, Symphonies of Wind Instruments. Milhaud made a composition about the greatest miracle in our history: the creation myth. He composed a statement by expressing this story in a surprising combination of jazz and traditional chamber music.
